Software Asset Management - What to expect
In line with the requirements of BCS/ISEB, 22 hours of training (including a 1 hour exam on the final afternoon) are provided by URM during the 3 days of the course.
The course comprises a mixture of PowerPoint presentations, discussions, Q&A sessions, exercises, walkthroughs of worked examples and mock exams. URM trainers are all highly experienced consultants who can call upon their practical knowledge to bring a real-world perspective to the classroom.
Course Material
Delegates who attend URM's SAM Essentials course will receive a training pack containing copies of all course slides. With each slide URM’s consultants have supplied supporting notes (approved by the BCS/ISEB) that act both as a useful revision tool for the ISEB examination and a reference library after the course. A book ‘Best Practice for Software Asset Management’ published by TSO will also be provided to delegates.
Examination
The SAM Essentials examination is a one-hour 'closed book' multiple-choice paper which will take place on the final afternoon of the course. There are 40 multiple choice questions and the pass mark is 26/40.
Course Venue
A dedicated residential training centre in Bedfordshire is used for all public schedule courses as URM feels that this provides the ideal distraction-free environment for an intensive and stimulating learning experience. Ideas and thoughts can be shared, not only with course trainers, but with other like-minded SAM professionals during classroom time and outside hours whilst socialising in relaxed surroundings.
