BS 25999 Developing and implementing a BCM response

The objective of this stage will be to deliver a management framework, and structures of incident (crisis) management, business continuity and business recovery plans that detail the steps to be taken during and after an incident to maintain or restore operations.

The objective of this planning phase is to provide the documentation to implement business continuity strategies to meet management approved downtime tolerances. At this stage URM sees that there are probably two critical questions to be answered:

  • What is the optimal planning structure (i.e. scope of the plan and the format of the plan)?
  • Who will be responsible for documenting and maintaining the plans?
