BS 25999 Determining the BCM strategy

Determining the BCM strategy

In this phase a range of strategies need to be evaluated thus allowing an appropriate response to be chosen for each product or service. The choice made will take account of the resilience and controls within the organisation and ensure an acceptable level of operation within an acceptable timeframe. BCM strategies work to mitigate the severity of potential disruption. Based on URM’s experiences, it is vital to develop a set of strategy options so that management can make informed decisions in respect of the appropriate recovery strategy, taking into account the identified requirements, assessed risks and indicative costs of implementing each recovery plan.
